On the mend

Sunday, August 28, 2011

We interrupt this regularly scheduled programming....

This weekend fun was cut short....my boy caught the back to school cooties :(

We will be back to our regularly scheduled programming once the breathing treatments, humidifiers, and thermometers go back in the closet.

In the meantime...lots of photography was done over the last week.

New pics on the photography website.

Runnin' on Island Time

Yesterday morning Cooper woke up at 6:00am. Great...on a Saturday.  What do we do now all day?  Well, the school is having a fundraiser 5k I thought but the idea of dragging out the stroller and pushing a 43 lb almost 4 year old for over 3 miles was not the way I wanted to get back into the running/5K circuit.  But...you gotta start somewhere and I have been lacing up my shoes for a run more now than I have in the past so I figured...what the heck? Go for it!

Even though I didn't run the whole time like I have in the past, I was proud of myself.  More proud of my little guy who wanted to jump out along the route and "win" with his mamma.

And I couldn't resist the event photographer's shots...they captured our start....

and our finish!

(for the record those people in the background were already done/or just visiting!  ha!)

End of Summer

With the start of school tomorrow, I can feel another "shift" happening.

Those long carefree nights in the driveway....they will be ending.

Cannonballs or beach time at noon...coming to an end.

We are registered for soccer, we have all our school supplies, uniforms are hanging in the closet ready to be worn. Goodbye to summer, hello new school year :)

Land of Make Believe

"Ready to turn 4" is a great age! I have loved all the phases of raising a child so far and each time I say "this is great and my favorite" so this precious time is no exception.  Cooper lives in a world totally unto himself sometimes....and I love to be able to watch in wonder.
