From Trash to Treasure

Mom and I spent the weekend refurbishing an old table we found in someone's garbage into my new living room console table to put behind the couch. It was in great shape after we sanded it, cleaned it and it.

Odds and Ends

So far this weekend I have:
1) cleaned out the laundry room and starting gathering stuff for a garage sale
2) almost finished (with Mom's help) turning someone's garbage into my new console table! (more on that on another post)
3) discovered someone came into our garage and stole our toolbox and most importantly my cool backpack diaper bag! (take the diapers dude...leave me the Ju Ju Be insolated backpack!!)
4) talked a length to a long lost friend who has been stalking me on the blog without me knowing it! I love you WOOOOMAIN....hang in there!
5) Gotten Cooper a short summer hair cut.
Oh yeah... and swam, and cleaned and watched License to Wed with Robin Williams. It was a cute movie if you never saw it...Rob laughed so hard he pulled a "Harry Bader" with the laughing so hard he couldn't breathe routine.

T-rific Evening

Tonight we met up with Robin, Taylor and Christopher at the T-Rex Resturant at Downtown Disney. The dinosours were fantastic and the smoke and noise totally captivated Cooper. He yelled "roarrrrrrrr" at all the dinosours he saw. Mr No Nap in 2 days, went to the beach and to downtown Disney today and went strong all day long. Enjoy the pics and the video....we can't help but dance to the hokie pokie where ever we are ;)

Just another day at the beach :)

Examples of why it's early bedtime for all!

Hershal the happy ballon giving bagger...and other random thoughts.

Cooper has a new friend. He is an old friend who used to be "Hershal the unhappy bagger" but he has changed his tune. He now loves to bag our groceries at Publix, he rushes to say hi to Cooper by name and he always gives a balloon. Turing over a new leaf Hershal? Thought some of my readers may want to know :) You know...since one of you loosely call this man "Dad".

We have been laying low lately...enjoying quiet time at the end of work days and trying to rest and "take care of ourselves". I never know what that means "take care of yourself" when people say it to me so I have taken some time lately to figure out what that means for me.

So far I have decided for me it means:

1)eating icecream when I want to and not caring about the calories

2) not checking the calendar for the date to see if it corresponds to a date someone I love died and then counting how long it's been.

3) not lying to myself about sometimes doing #2 and just acknowledging the loss (2 years that my dad has been gone on the 18th of this month...just incase you too are counting)

4) going to bed when I am tired even if it is 8pm

5) watching bad reality TV just because I love it and not making excuses for it

6) laughing when I want, crying when I want and not caring about what others think or expect me to do. (this is HUGE for someone like me who is usually fake just to make others comfortable around me)

So folks...personal progress for me and Hershal the bagger? Not sure..but we are changing...and I think it's pretty cool.

Oh Vey!

Before 7:30am I already have:

- pulled Cooper off of the "new to us" Disney table Grammie brought over yesterday. He was stuck in the little block holder part in the center of the table.

- put him in 3 time outs for him hitting and trying to bite me while I pulled him off the table

-fished Mr Potato Head parts out of the garbage ..fished Cooper out of the garbage.

- attempted to get him a sippy of milk and came back to find him IN the dresser drawers.

It's going to be a fun day...I can just tell.
