Friday night date night!

Friday night date night is back....but it was me and the Coop! We went to the mall and ate at Nature's Table, Cooper played on the riding toys in the mall and then we went to Walmart to pick up a few things. We held hands and walked (no stroller) and sat and ate together in the mall sharing our mini yogurt after our dinner of veggie soup and chicken. It was so nice and he really seemed to like the one on one time with me out of the house. I love that I can talk to him and he seems to understand me and we carry on somewhat of a conversation..I love when I ask him a question and with a New Jersey accent he goes "yeah". So funny!

My car overheated today...don't even get me started....but grandma was nice enough to let me borrow the Mustang until it's fixed on Wed or Thurs. Cooper and I had date night in style :)

A Day of Rememberance and Celebration of Life

Today we had the service for my Pop. It has been an emotionally exhausting day. My Uncle gave an amazing eulogy that described Pop perfectly. A man of honor, class, dignity, pride and love for his family and country above all else. Lots of family and pictures to share at another time....I am drained beyond belief.

Arrivals

Tonight Grant and Kimmy came in to town...Pop's funeral service is tomorrow. My other family also arrives tonight but much later so I won't see them until tomorrow. The boys are ejoying playing together...it's so great to have them the same age. I am cooking up a storm for tomorrow so I am still up and don't feel tired at all yet. I am sure it will hit me soon. The house smells of baked ziti, garlic, meatballs and sauce. Such comfort food for me.

I'll take lots of pics of the family together to post...Pop would have loved that :)

Oh...and just to publically put it out here on the blog...Kimmy is just preggo with baby #2! Due in March :)

Weekend "Stay"cation

This weekend we decided to be "tourists in our own town". We hit the local zoo on Saturday and a public community pool on Sunday. At the zoo we enjoyed just walking through the park and admiring the people in kayaks and the apes high up in the trees. At the community pool we splashed in the kid zone and Rob and I even went down the giant slide! I have to say we were the only adults to that but I bet the others were jealous..it was fun :) Cooper loved skipping along holding our hands...he is getting to be such a "big boy".

I got to relax and play around with my photos like I love too, Rob took a long bikeride through our neighborhood and Cooper...well....I think his favorite part of the weekend is a toss up between seeing a kangeroo and the sprinkle park at the community pool.
