Out Yonder

In 1979 it was rare to find a true Floridian in Florida. As this transplanted Jersey girl found her way around the south, our neighbors often hailed from Alabama, Georgia and other colorful "Confederate States" and they used to like to say.  It was back then that this "Yankee" first heard the term "Yonder". 

"Darla...go out yonder and git ur daddy a beer". (Actual quote might I add - Ha!)

It took me FOREVER to figure out where "Yonder" was!

Last night while stepping out "yonder" it was amazing to me that just a simple trip outside
 let us to ponder our....
well.....

yonder.

From the big blue sky overhead
to the small "seeds" on the ground...

we explored....

It  is always an adventure 'round these parts when you live with a cowboy.

Now excused me....I gotta go 'round up these critters

 out yonder.

One night about a month ago...in the middle of the night I couldn't sleep. 

I was trying so hard to relax my mind and I was trying to decorate or think my "happy/creative" thoughts to keep myself from getting frusterated that it was 2 am and I was up. 

"One shoe can change your life" Cinderella.

In that thought process I thought "hmmmmm...this bed really should be on the other wall and I would have way more room if I twisted everthing to the left". 

By 2:10am I was up and dragging furniture like a LOON ....so....here is the final outcome!

I am still loving the new bathroom wallpaper and paint, remember when 
 I showed you before and afters HERE. 

I LOVE these hooks I got at Hobby Lobby...they work perfect for my towels and I didn't have to drill a gazzilion anchors and screws into the wall. (That was the reason I had to wallpaper in the first place!  To cover past sins!)

Here is my favorite DIY door fix done "female style"!  Hang a curtian and tie back with a necklace instead of replacing the broken pocket door!  A gals gotta do what a gals gotta do!!

Monthy Family Dinner

Every month Rochelle, Todd, Jake and I get the kids together

and rotate dinner at one of our houses.

This was my month and we celebrated Cooper and Rochelle's birthday as well as did some fun pics of the kids, Rochelle's family and of course, adult conversation with Sangria!

PSS- Yes for those of you wondering, Jake has been shaving the boys heads himself and gave Reese a mohaw. The day before picture day at school no less! Rochelle said it best when she said "Well, Hope...there is only so much we can do!" Ha!

(almost) Worldless Wednesday

We're getting ready!

Fall

Humor me...I know I live on the Space Coast of Florida, I know it's hot....but it's September people! I had almost all of these things up in that attic just waiting to come out!!

I am dreaming of hot apple cider, pumpkin patches and a crisp cool breeze in the air.

So...I made a wreath to go on the mantle

and that sparked the flame to hang this on my mirror

and then I found all these leaves so I created this arrangment

in a pot that I once spray painted white from a dull gray.

I also had Cooper help me paint rocks from our yard with chalkboard paint

and we made our own Halloween rocks just like the onese HERE at Pottery Barn.

I gotta get back to Toy Story birthday planning...all this Fall decorating is making me want to eat candy apples and throw on a big comfy sweater!

Party Prep....

We are getting ready for Cooper's bday party next weekend!

Woody, Buzz and the whole gang can't wait to celebrate :)

Mommy, turn the car around....
