1st Grade, Becoming a Cub Scout, Turning 6 and other milestones I haven't blogged about

This amazing kid turned 6 last month!  The next day his left front tooth fell out!

 He got a lot of great toys for his birthday, if you haven't gotten a Thank You card yet he is working on them :)

Cooper is now a Cub Scout.  A tiger cub. Selling popcorn, again, thanks family for stepping up!

For his 6th Birthday, we went with his best buddies to an AMAZING Boy Scout Camp in the mountains for a "Shoot R EE".  BB guns, paint balls, archery, etc.

We really had a wonderful time, Rob came into town and was able to do all that shooting stuff with Cooper. It was a great birthday!

In other news, Aunt Mary passed away.  Avante was a such a special time I got to spend with her. The collage below is from our time together there. So sad to see the last of the Costa's gone.

 The reason I haven't been blogging much is because I write every day as a content writer for My719moms.com.  6-8 articles a night depending on the day of the week (more for weekends).  I love that creative outlet and to be able to make money at  second job working from home.  The staff picture is below from our staff retreat the other weekend.

We visited Happy Apple Farms again this year but with the Bogart family. It was so fun and I made fantastic applesauce again this year. Lots more fun fall things coming up I am sure I'll make time to post.  It's such a beautiful time of the year here!

1 st GRADE!

My BABY is in 1st grade!  Just writing that still overwhelms me!  I couldn't be prouder of the young man this boy is becoming, and to see him proudly walk into his first grade classroom was a joy.  Such a difference from the little boy I dropped off at Kindergarten in a new state at a new school.  This year, he OWNES the school, 1st grade brings confidence and I love seeing it. We are planning on a lot of fun activities this year so stay tuned for Cub Scouts, more karate and more adventures!

Summer....Oh where did you go?

We had an awesome summer!  I can't believe I didn't blog all summer but it was really because we were so busy!  We had Grammie and Rob in CO in May and Grammie went back to Florida in June. 2 weeks after she left, Cooper and I went to Florida for Jake and Pamela's wedding and then Kimmy and the kids came!  We stayed in Florida for 4 weeks and had a blast. 

Having the summer off from school was fantastic but I still wrote articles for www.my719moms.com so I was online ALL. THE. TIME.  Which is why I wasn't here posting.  I need to get back here, to keep my journal here so I am back to posting :)

Here are just a sampling of my favorite pictures from this summer...what a great relaxing one it will be remembered as! My first "real" summer off as an adult and it ROCKED!

Summer Colorado Fun Part 1

We had such a great time when Grammie was here.  She was visiting for 3 weeks and she got to get the full experience of Colorado Springs. With Rob and Grammie here for Cooper's Kindergarten graduation, Cooper and I got to play host to this new city of ours.  

The Broadmoor of course was the first stop for Grammie.  

A place that her parents had visited so many years before, I was a magical day as we walked around and even had a drink and watched the Preakness from the bar.
